Daddy's Retirement Ceremony!

The end of an era and the key to the city! 🔑

My Daddy retired after 45 years in retail and 30 years with Wal-Mart....26 of those years at good ol' store #71.

He has the most incredible work ethic and integrity. His  ability to create and maintain culture and community while leading people so well is something few can do. Anyone can be a boss, but leaders are few. I'm so thankful for the example he set for our family and so many others!! Not a bad thing can be said about him.  The stories, tears, joy, shares and comment on my FB page and the 150+ people who showed up to wish him well says so much about his character, leadership, and what he has done in his community.

You've left such an incredible legacy, Daddy! I'm honored to be your baby girl!

Sidenote:
The kids thought it was hysterical walking in to Wal-Mart dressed up, but they soon realized the magnitude of a legacy their Papaw has left and I am SO thankful they were able to experience the outpouring of love and honor for him.  I'm super sad my Mama couldn't attend, but she was recovering from major back surgery she had had just days earlier.
